From Being a Full time academic Panist, in middle 2005, Ricardo's life made a 180 degree turn around. Making electronic music a part of his daily living. 2006 opened new doors to Castillo, after practicing, playing at underground gigs, and a few clubs around San Salvador, had the opportunity to warm up the gig for Canadian dj/producer/remixer Gabriel Batz. After playing at several local bars and clubs, in late 2006 Ricardo decided to start his own promoter "Velvet Promotions", helping the local electronic music scene to grow with "velvet Sessions" opening a wide space for new djs and talents and threw 4 gigs that were of most success expanding to a Velvet Sessions in club "La Casbah", Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala. So far, Castillo has already played in Guatemala at venues such as Famous The Box, C-Lounge, Tantra and club La Casbah up to this day and has shared decks with important Central American djs (such as Santiago Niño, Gabriel Batz, 3kttordeejay, Alex Hentze, Rod V, Abraham Saca and Ettore Lentini to name a few). now involved more on the likes of producing his own music and playing his own tracks with ableton live software and midi controller, Ricardo has been trying to learn and get better on the music production side. Now Signed with Minimatracx and Itzamna Recordings Castillo has been given the needed exposure to get out there and show a little of El Salvador..s Talent. Castillo..s Techno/Minimal shows a very percusive side, with crazy synths and strong catchy basslines. now involved more on the likes of producing his own music, Ricardo has been a bit away from the dancefloor trying to learn and get better on making music.
