Historia
MOZOTE nace en un principio por una inquietud personal de “Dros” (voz,
gtr) de desarrollar una fusión de nuevas ideas musicales. Al platicar
de esta iniciativa a Alex (voz, gtr), descubrió que no era el único con
este tipo de inquietudes, y decidieron embarcarse en una nueva e
innovativa propuesta musical.
Es así como a esta misma tendencia se unen otros músicos de gran talento al proyecto; que busca sobresalir fusionando géneros como el reggae, rock latino, dancehall, y funk entre otros. Su objetivo primordial es no encasillarse en un solo tipo de música sino, explorar, mezclar, romper esquemas y ante todo crear una nueva identidad musical que sobresalga como algo fresco, nuevo y no antes escuchado en la región.
MOZOTE está integrado por reconocidos músicos de la escena salvadoreña como Chele Hernandez (la Gota) en la batería, Jonathan García (el Gruego) en el bajo, Francisco Flores (Pipilis) en la percusión, samplers y synths, Manuel Merino (el Pitu) en los teclados y synths, Alex Huezo (Wesu) y Pedro Alfaro (Dros) en las guitarras y la voces. Todos pertenecientes a reconocidas a bandas nacionales como lo son "Los Remedios", “Los Tachos”, “Mystica y Raiz”, y “Adhesivo”.
A pesar del poco tiempo que llevan en la escena, en su repertorio incluyen igual número de canciones originales así como covers, para dar a conocer un poco del estilo que los caracterizara. Sin duda alguna MOZOTE promete ser un proyecto sin precedentes, una buena oportunidad para escuchar ideas nuevas y de conocer la nueva cosecha de música 100% salvadoreña.
