LA FRIGUEY HISTORIA
En 1996, la ciudad de Santa Ana vio nacer a una de las bandas salvadoreñas más innovadoras, frescas y enérgicas de los últimos tiempos: Friguey.Caracterizada por producir canciones de autoría netamente original y por la energía, dinamismo y alegría de su show, Frigüey ha marcado y sigue marcando precedentes en lo que a producción musical salvadoreña se refiere.
Una banda versátil
En su música original, Frigüey fusiona rock con ritmos latinos como cumbia, salsa, ska, reggae, quebradita, reggaetón y otros; su público es principalmente adolescente, pero la versatilidad de su música los hace también preferidos entre niños y adultos.
La música y el show de Frigüey, denominado y ampliamente reconocido como La Fiesta Friguey son muy aceptados por el público salvadoreño y regional, haciendo presentaciones exitosas en los escenarios más diversos, tanto formales como informales, siendo por ello el favorito de grandes marcas comerciales salvadoreñas e internacionales e incluso instituciones gubernamentales para sus eventos.
Trayectoria
La banda ha actuado con éxito en el extranjero, llevando la música salvadoreña a toda Centroamérica y México. En este país pusieron a bailar a por lo menos 20,000 jóvenes mexicanos en la Plaza de Toros del Distrito Federal dentro de un reconocido festival rock pop, en diciembre de 2005. En 2007 la banda viaja a Estados Unidos, donde llevó la Fiesta Frigüey a cerca de 30,000 salvadoreños residentes, en un festival multitudinario realizado en Maryland. En 2009 vuelve a Estados Unidos a colaborar con su show en un evento benéfico.
Actualmente, Frigüey se encuentra por lanzar su cuarto disco, Mujeres Arriba, con el cual dará un giro sorprendente en cuanto a sonido y estilo en relación a sus anteriores producciones y a la producción musical nacional en general. La banda se encuentra también por firmar un contrato de representación artística con una firma estadounidense, para llevar su música a Estados Unidos y Canadá.
Toda esta trayectoria, experiencia y pasión por la música, a la que Frigüey se dedica a tiempo completo con profesionalismo, le hacen una de las principales bandas de El Salvador, con la mayor proyección nacional e internacional. ¡Fiesta Frigüey para todos!
