Pashpak: BIO - ROCK
Pashpak es una palabra nahuat que significa “belleza interna de la mujer”; pero en los escenarios es sinónimo de furioso metal y hardcore (power). La banda es parte de la ultima generación de rockeros guanacos.
Esta banda nace en Santa Tecla y sus primeros “pininos” tienen fecha en noviembre del año 200. Sin embargo, su esfuerzo y constante aparición en los escenarios les ha dado experiencia en los parajes oscuros del rock.
Esta es la alineación de su tribu. En la guitarra “Lucho” Guardado, en la batería Ricardo Moreno, Raúl Buendía en la percusión, Arturo Avilés y Gerardo Huezo en las voces y Juan Cabrera en el bajo.

“Todas las líricas hablan de puras emociones. No escribimos letras contra el gobierno o socialistas o que digan malas palabras. Nosotros no nos metemos con eso. Respetamos a la gente que lo hace pero nosotros no trabajamos así”, dice su guitarrista
Ellos tienen una razón. No pueden hablar de lo que no conocen. “Por suerte no nos ha tocado vivir la realidad más cruda. No nos tocó la mala fortuna de crecer y que la calle nos enseñara todo. Sería ilógico que nuestras canciones hablaran de eso. Sería hipocresía. Es como que si un músico fuera hijo de un diputado y empezara a hablar de política. Preferimos hablar de emociones, que es lo que nosotros vivimos”.
Toda la banda está de acuerdo en afirmar que su música sale del corazón.
El grupo no tiene nada contra otras agrupaciones que incluyen la protesta en sus letras. “Los respetamos cada quien es libre de hacer la música que quiera”. Es por eso que Pashpak comparte frecuentemente escenarios con gente de PRODEROCK.
Pashpak sostiene buenas relaciones con Apartamento 31, Luna de Sangre y Urbano. “Un montón de mara agarra la música como que si es competencia. Hay gente de grupos que te saludan y después te apuñalan por la espalda. Si no nos ayudamos todos, nadie va a progresar. Hacer arte no significa hacer competencia”.
En cuanto a corrientes musicales e influencias la gente de Pashpak confiesa su escuela inspiradora: “Desde Slayer, Biohazard, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Slipnot, Deftones. Nosotros nos discríbimos como una nueva escuela del emo – core (emotional hardcore)”.
Su guitarrista, Luis “Lucho” Guardado nos cuenta que todo estaba listo para empezar su grabación pero sucedió un incidente que frustró el intento. El grupo ya había conseguido el dinero - y ya había financiado la grabación -, cuando el productor abandonó el país con todo y fondos.
“Hace como seis meses empezamos a grabar el disco, pero el chavo con quien estábamos grabando le salió una oportunidad en el extranjero como ingeniero de sonido. No nos avisó y se fue”. Los muchachos de Pashpak todavía no pierden la cabeza ya que el productor Hector Mancia, es “bastante chero”, de ellos por lo que no lo piensan demandarlo todavía.
Sin embargo, eso no los desanimó. El grupo buscó un contacto con los hermanos Lara (músicos de Pamela Robin) y con ellos grabaron su primer material titulado “MIEDO”. La rola tiene un excelente sonido, a pesar de haber sido grabado en un estudio casero, y ya suena en muchas radios reconocidas como Radio Astral, Radio Femenina, Radio ABC, Radio Cool FM y Radio Feliz.
Este grupo no tiene miedo de salir de la madriguera urbana y ha dedicado muchos esfuerzos por salir a “puebliar”. La banda asegura que sus mejores experiencias han sido en conciertos fuera de San Salvador. “Le tenemos mucho cariño a la gente de Metapán y Armenía. La mara de los grupos le hace mala cara a ir a tocar afuera. no se porqué, ellos se lo pierden. La gente de los pueblos es la que más te apoya”, confiesan. Pashpak también se ha presentado en Suchitoto y más recientemente el Soya “bronx”.
“Allá fuera hay mucha gente con ganas de escuchar rock hecho en casa y que prefieren comprar música que se hace aquí”, concluyen.
El grupo se presentará el 16 de Agosto en Chalchuapa adonde compartirán escenarios con grupos como R.C.P. y La Pepa. Por el momento su proyecto más reciente será la grabación de su primer video. La banda también está terminando de reunir el dinero para continuar grabando.
La banda está conciente que el rock nacional está viviendo buenos momentos con el reciente florecimiento de espacios radiales dedicados a música 100% salvadoreña. “Tenemos muchos proyectos. sabemos que sí se puede, las puertas está abiertas”.
Pashpak puso mucho empeño en la producción de su sencillo “Miedo”. “Esta canción define en esencia la ideología de Pashpak. Habla de un mundo que antes era más puro, pero en el transcurso del tiempo ha ido cambiando, se han ido dando contradicciones y muerte. Como vivimos a diario con eso, se ha vuelto cotidiano”
