Momposónica, una banda de Nueva York, con raices colombianas y la voz de El Salvador

Sistema de Cambio. Ese es el nombre de la nueva producción de una banda que está robando la atención en la Gran Manzana, Nueva York, EUA. Ellos son Momposónica, banda de raíces colombianas que tienen entre sus filas a una compatriota, como voz líder.
Los colombianos Felipe Taborda en la guitarra y teclados; Mauricio Molina en el bajo; David Pinto en la percusión y Andrés del Mar en la bataca, respaldan la voz de la salvadoreña Carolina Craig (voz) quien desde hace un año se unió a Momposónica, estsa banda que nació en el 2003, en Englewood, New Jersey.
Con una mezcla de Garage rock, pop, ritmos latinos y electrónicos, la banda ha recibido recibió favorables reseñas de Billboard & AMG All Music Guide., gracias también a la propuesta musical cosechada con su álbum debut homónimo, lanzado en los Estados Unidos el 8 de agosto del 2006 por JRGR records, bajo la producción del legendario trombonista salsero y productor musical en New York Jimmy Bosch, también conocido como "El Trombón Criollo". Bosch ha colaborado con artistas como Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri, Rubén Blades; y distribuido a través de RED Distribution/SONY BMG.
La marcada base de fusión latina, rock, electo y punk es parte de esta banda surge con un nombre que rinde varios tributos, entre ellos, a Mompós, un municipio de Colombia y en parte al grupo de garage rock estadounidense The Sonics y también rinde tributo a la cantante folclórica afro-colombiana Totó la Momposina
Con una crítica positiva sobre su primer material, la banda luce renovada, y tiene muchas expectativas con su nuevo disco, gracias al toque distintivo que le pone la salvadoreña Carolina Craig, con quien pronto te prometemos una entrevista, exclusiva para Musica.com.sv
Sobre el disco, cabe destacar que fue grabado en el 2009, siempre manteniendo los ritmos latinos que identifican su identidad latina, en los Estudios Bennett, de Englewood, NJ, bajo la producción y dirección musical de Felipe Taborda, para que posteriormente fuera mezclado y masterizado por Germán Villacorta en Lima 32 Avenger Studio de Hollywood, CA.
La banda, de mucho talento y de gran relación con El Salvador, para este disco se ha hecho acompañar con músicos de la talla de Andrés Zea (Chocquibtown) y Mike Somoracki (Schizo Fun Addict).
