Kataplexia: Death metal de la mano de Fatality desde FInlandia
Nadie es profeta en su tierra, bien lo dice el dicho, y Rodrigo "Fatality" Artiga lo confirma. Kataplaxia es el nombre del proyecto que inició este
salvadoreño en el año 2003 en Helsinki, Finlandia.
El Fatality empezó con Kabak en el mero sivar y después se salto el río para formar lo que ahora se llama Kataplexia, una exitosa banda de death metal europeo.
En febrero de 2003, como todo buen trucho, el Fatality se hecha el equipo al hombro y comienza a grabar instrumento por instrumento, en el estudio "The Course" con el ingeniero de sonido Jani Loikas que también contribuyó con varios solos de guitarra en tres de las rolas del primer disco. 4 años más tarde, ya como
Kataplexia y bajo el sello Severe Music Finland sale el disco "Morgue's Reality".
El disco es bien recibido por el público y la banda tiene que pasar al siguiente nivel: "Tocar en vivo el material que Kataplexia produce", según dice en la página web de la banda.
Gracias al buen rose metalero del Fatality pudo encontrar dos buenos elementos para la formación de la banda, ellos fueron los brasileños Mikael Da Costa y Davi Moreira.
En noviembre de ese año ya se encontraban tocando en un festival importante con bandas de nombre como ROTTEN SOUND, DISAVOWED, DESPONDENCY,NECROTERIO, IMMERSED IN BLOOD, EMBEDDED, etc.
Para noviembre de 2004 Kataplexia anuncia un nuevo contrato con Xtreem Music de España, lugar donde realizaron una gira hace poco. Este sello es propiedad
del bien reconocido vocal de death metal Dave Rotten de Avulsed y Christ Denied.
Ya para el 2005 sacan su segundo album con dicho sello bajo el nombre de "CATASTROPHIC SCENES" con 7 brutales y aceleradas canciones más un video.
Según la bio de la página web de Kataplaxia el disco salió bajo las influencias de las bandas Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse (Old), Pyrexia, Dying fetus, Pyaemia, Disavowed, Severe Torture entre otras
Otros dos nuevos miembros de la banda se encontraron, Euro (guitarra) y Miikka (bajo), esta incorporación le dan a la banda una nueva actitud y un mejor sonido, declaran.
Así, Kataplexia se convierte en un orgullo en la escena metalera mundial al ser una banda multicultural que tiene como base el talento y empeño de Rodrigo Artiga, salvadoreño, y logra el soporte del metal latino de Brasil y la clase de los países europeos como Finlandia.
